Welcome to our Parent & Staff AssociationOur Mission Statement:
Grouville School Parent and Staff Association (PSA) aims to further promote the positive and vibrant school spirit that the school fosters, through social events for our children and the wider community. We are proud to have such an active and enthusiastic team that has enabled our school to provide so many excellent facilities and items that enrich the children's learning and experiences at Grouville School. Membership of the PSA is informal and we welcome any offers of help, ideas and support. The PSA is run by a committee, elected from its members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held every September. Any parent of a child or children within the school is welcome to stand for any of the named roles; the Chairperson, the Vice-chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Meetings are held every month and we welcome all parents to attend as little or as often as they wish to. We really value the time, effort and enthusiasm that all of our committee members and volunteers share. We encourage committee members to take on as many or as few tasks as they are able with each event. Meetings enable us to coordinate and schedule a programme of PSA events efficiently that works around the school calendar. Many hands really do make light work and we have achieved so many wonderful experiences and brilliant events with the help of parents, guardians, grandparents, siblings and friends of Grouville School. We have been supported by many local businesses and services with our raffles and our summer and spring fairs. We really value these connections with the wider community and the Parish of Grouville that continuously support our schools ever-improving opportunities. We take ideas from our in-house ‘Mini PSA’, made up from a number of pupils across the school, to ensure the voices of our children are heard. Our Chair and Vice-Chair host half-termly meetings in school with the Mini PSA to collate ideas and educate the pupils on what we do and how we run. The community spirit and the children's happiness at our events is what drives us forward to make our events as special and as joyful as possible. As well as ad-hoc volunteers for each event and sub-committees elected at General Meetings, we also have a permanent list of Class Representatives (a parent from each class) whom help spread the word of our events and fundraisers through informal class facebook groups and whatsapp groups. Over the past few years our PSA have purchased new Key Stage 2 library furniture, new nursery playground equipment, the playtrain, adventure play equipment, the Trim Trail, Now Press Play headsets and lots of lovely classroom extras. Our favourite events over the last few years have consisted of summer fairs, school discos, themed dress down days, hotdog lunches, sponsorship challenges and scavenger hunts. You can contact us anytime at grouvillepsa@gmail.com or send us a message via the communication box below. Our Facebook page. is updated regularly advertising our upcoming events and fundraisers. |
