Eco Club Here at the Eco Club, we work hard to think of ways we can reduce our waste, particularly single use plastic. We will be helping our community understand the importance of helping and improving our school area and give them tips on how to be most successful at reducing plastic and helping to save the environment. |
Grouville Gazetteers The Grouville Gazetteers have a passion for writing and sharing our special school events with the wider community. We work hard to publish news articles for the local newspaper, the Grouville Gazette, so that we can share our amazing school experiences with others in our local parish. |
Learning Detectives
Learning Detectives are children who are on the hunt for fantastic learning! We use our Successful Learning Ingredients to spot great learning in each classroom, thinking about Movers (what helps us learn) and Blockers (what stops us from learning). We give children feedback about what they are doing well and how they can be even better. We are also investigate our school environment and we are always on the lookout for lots of brilliant learning, learning, learning! |
Librarians
We have a passion for reading and you will often find us at the library, sorting our fiction and non-fiction books, recommending good reads and improving the look of our library. We are so lucky to have such a large space for reading and we encourage the children at Grouville school to respect our books and library area. It is our job to think of new ways to improve the library to give our community the best experience when sharing and reading books. |
Playground Pals
We are excited to be improving our playtimes by helping to choose new games and equipment. We are involved with testing out new games and creating boxes for the children to use. Our aim is to not only make playtimes more fun but to also to create opportunities for any children who find playtimes tricky. |
Recycling Warriors
We are the Recycling Warriors and we care about the environment! We are always looking for ways to reuse and recycle unwanted materials at school. Some of the ways in which we try to improve the recycling in our school is by taking care of the recycling station, encouraging children to use reusable snack pots and donating materials to other groups. |
School Council & Rights Respecting
We are a mixture of School Council Reps and Rights Respecting Ambassadors. We have been looking at Grouville’s School Improvement Plan (which is usually only for teachers and school leaders) and we have been working on creating a child-friendly version so that everyone at school can understand it and know what we need to do to make our school even better. |
School Grounds Patrol
Our job is to improve our school grounds by investigating the litter around the school. We work hard to remove the litter we find with special equipment that only we are trained to use! We will be keeping a record of the litter we find so that we can report back to the rest of the school and encourage them to throw litter into the bin to keep our school clean and to protect our environment. |
Sports Leaders
We are the Sports Leaders and we help to improve the PE equipment that is used during lessons and by the Play Ground Pals. We help to organise the sports equipment and make suggestions for what needs to be replaced and what could be used more in school. We also help by learning games that we can teach others. |
Well-Being Team Well-being is at the heart of Grouville School and we are very proud to be a part of this team. We come up with ideas to improve the well-being at our school and how we can best support children and adults. We work with adults from the ELSA and Well-Being staff team to help with ideas towards our ‘Well-Being Wednesdays’. |
Young First Aiders
Our job is to help improve the management of first aid at our school. We have discussed the systems we already have in place and have thought of ways that we can help to support first aid throughout the school. We wear lanyards so that staff members on duty during playtimes know that we are on hand to collect ice packs, get help if someone is hurt or assist a member of staff by reassuring an injured child. It is important for everyone in our school to feel safe. |
